My Devotional JournalToday’s Our Daily Bread from Katara Patton … USE THIS LINK … related a story about a friend of a presenter at a conference noticing that her friend didn’t look well. And persisting in this concern, the conference presenter pursued getting a doctor’s advice, which led to treatment, … which in turn, likely saved the life the conference presenter.

The story reminded the ODB author in today’s entry about the friends in Mark 2, who took their crippled friend to see Jesus and how they persisted - in faith - to lower the friend, thru a hole in the roof in the house, where Jesus was teaching. And Jesus recognized their persistent faith, healing the man and forgiving his sins.

I hope my readers have taken in the ODB entry, the linked song, and the Scriptures provide above which show/tell us how the Lord provides all our needs when we’re willing to surrender - in faith - to receive what He’s willing to provide. That’s why I’m here, seeking His provision again today. How about you?

My Thanksgiving: … Oh, King Jesus, thank You …Lord, … for giving me all I need again today!

My Prayer Today: Oh Abba Father, ... King Jesus, … thank You, Lord, for providing us with all we need … ALWAYS! … Amen

My Devotional Journal: Today’s Our Daily Bread from Elisa Morgan … USE THIS LINK … being an author of these ODB devotionals; became stuck while writing one of the entries. Finally, she remembered some research that showed that getting up and walking sometimes helps the mind to break free from “writer’s block,” and when Elisa Morgan got out on her normal walking trail, praying as she walked, her thoughts broke loose, allowing her to finish the ODB entry.

And the ODB entry for today focused on God’s word (see the Scriptures above), teaching all Christians that we need to persist in prayer when we feel “blocked” in our pursuit of God’s will or His ways. I don’t know about my readers here today; but I do know that, when I come up against the walls of life, my Lord calls out, thru His word, as Matthew West sings in the linked song, to “KEEP ON PRAYING!” And so that’s exactly what I’m going to do right now! Will you join me?

My Thanksgiving: … Oh, King Jesus, thank You …Lord, … for calling me to keep on praying to You.

My Prayer Today: Oh Abba Father, ... King Jesus, … thank You, Lord, for showing us all to keep on praying, no matter what we come up against in life. … Amen

My Devotional Journal: Today’s Our Daily Bread from Leslie Koh … USE THIS LINK … related a story about her boss, who was on vacation and received the disturbing news that he may be replaced upon return to the company. Disquieted, he prayed to God, ”Where are You?” … and momentarily, he reported going to the window and seeing a glorious rainbow, … recalling God’s promise, thru Noah, and giving her boss confidence that God would be in any circumstances that might transpire.

And if my readers have taken in the linked song and meditated on the Scriptures shared today, I’m praying that we all are lifted up by God’s eternal covenant promises of His presence and protection … anywhere and everywhere we go in life. Really, … every time I see a rainbow, it lifts me up with the reminder that my God promises His presence and protection in my life … ALWAYS. Are you with me, fellow Christian?

… Jesus teaches truth to the Pharisees who were challenging his power, that at the judgment, any/all will be judged for the words they speak.

Reference Passage: James 5:12 [NLT] … USE THIS LINK …

https://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=James%205%3A12&version=NLT

Jesus’ half-brother, James, teaches truth to fellow Christians about how we speak honoring God.

My Devotional Journal: Today’s Our Daily Bread from Mike Witmer … USE THS LNK https://www.odbm.org/en/devotionals/devotional-category/abusing-gods-name?ts=1771977600000 … makes reference to a vintage photo from WW2 where a large banner above the Nazi headquarter read in German (and translated here in English), “By resisting the Jew, I fight for the work of the Lord.” The banner was a clear example of using God’s name in vain, as forbidden by God in the Highlight passage in the ODB entry today (see photo). And this is a command from God's covenant law to ALWAYS honor God's holy name.

And the question challenges us as God's chosen ones, ... do we recoil when we hear God’s name used to dishonor our Lord or when others misuse or abuse the Name of God in some way? I’m praying that we all revere and lift up the Name of “Jesus” or our “Holy God” in any way we refer to our Lord in public. God’s Name is HOLY; and will you join me to use His Name to glorify our Lord … ALWAYS?!

My Thanksgiving: … Oh, King Jesus, thank You …Lord, … for calling me to revere and honor You always when I refer to Your Name in public.

My Prayer Today: Oh Abba Father, ... King Jesus, … thank You, Lord, for commanding Your children to NEVER dishonor You by misusing Your Name. … Amen
