My Devotional Journal: Today’s Our Daily Bread from Dave Branon  …  USE THIS LINK   relates a person story of he and his wife preparing to go on a late fall vacation but an early snow storm showed them that they had not prepared for upcoming snows by changing to snow tires.  And the story was shared to illustrate how we Christians should ALWAYS be living in preparation for Christ’s return. 

And if my readers have heard the linked song and meditated on the Scriptures shared above,  I would hope we’re all living our lives, showing and sharing our faith, and knowing that our Lord could return at any moment, … just like the snow came for the ODB author.  Personally, I could - and should - do more to be ready for the return of our King Jesus.  How about You?

My Devotional Journal: Today’s Our Daily Bread from Marvin Williams  …  USE THIS LINK   ... writes that, for many in recent years, the concept of “hope” has been the most searched term on the internet, showing that computer users are looking for hope in the midst of the chaos of this world.  And the ODB author showed that this desire is often found in God’s word as well, especially referencing the Apostle Paul, writing to fellow Christians in Rome (see the Highlight passage).

My Devotional Journal: Today’s Our Daily Bread from Kirsten Holmberg  …  USE THIS LINK  ...  told about a young lady, named Asheton, who felt broken and met a young man, name Nick, whose faith had been restored as a Christian.  And Nick showed Asheton how God will reshape believers into new vessels of hope and promise.  And the two were finally married and became teachers in a pottery class, teaching the attendees that they are special and being reshaped to honor God with their creative hands. 

And as God’s clay, I think of how my Lord reshaped me from broken pieces into a vessel of purpose, once broken shards of addiction into a minister who glorifies my Lord by showing others how to be clay in the Potter’s hands.   How has God reshaped your life?

My Devotional Journal: Today’s Our Daily Bread from Mike Wittmer  …  USE THIS LINK   ... related a true story about Dan Wallace, a college teacher of Greek, who had traveled the world trying to locate ancient Bible manuscripts. But in his travels, Dan contracted encephalitis, which caused him to lose much of his memory and his knowledge of Greek.  And so this former teacher of Greek went back and used a text he had published on teaching Greek and relearned the language again.  

And this ODB story illustrates how we can learn and relearn what we need to know to honor and serve God … by remembering what God has taught us in HIs word.  In fact, as we read in 2Timothy 3:16-17, that’s why God gave us His book of instruction … to allow us to seek and to follow His ways and to remember what He, our Lord, has done for us.   That’s why I try to follow what is sung in the linked song and taught in God’s word shared above.   Are you with me?
