January 22, 2022 … Nowhere To Hide …

Berry Patch Devotions in 2021 - Day 22

Devotional Song: ... GO TO THIS LINK ...   Please take the time to take in a song and lyrics from Greg Long singing from Psalm 139… I Cannot Hide From You … poignantly singing of how there’s nowhere we, as children of God, can hide from His Spirit.

No place to hide ...

==============

Highlight Passage: …  Genesis 3:9 [NLT] …

Then the Lord God called to the man, “Where are you?”

… God sees all and knows all and there’s no place to hide from Him.

===============

Highlight Passage [Context]: … Genesis 3:1-10 [NLT] …  USE THIS LINK …

… Adam and Eve try to hide their nakedness and sin from God.

==========                                              .

Highlight Passage [Context]: … Psalm 32 [NLT] …  USE THIS LINK …

… King David quit trying to hide from God, confessing his sin with Bathsheba, and sings of His restoration in faith with God.

Highlight Passage [Context]: … Psalm 139:1-7 [NLT] …  USE THIS LINK …

… King David sings of not being able to hide from God’s omniscience.

Reference Passage: … Matthew 28:20b [NLT] …

20 … And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”

… Jesus promises His born-again disciples to be with us ALWAYS and FOREVER.

Reference Passage: … Romans 8:38 [NLT] …

38 And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love.

… Paul teaches fellow Christians that NOTHING can separate born-again believers from God’s love.

My Devotional JournalToday's Our Daily Bread< author, Kirsten Holmberg, AT THIS LINK  writes of playing hide-n-seek with classmates as a child and not being able to find them, … even tho one of them was clearly visible behind a plant.

And the ODB author also uses the Genesis story of Adam and Eve trying to hide from an omniscient God in the garden after their sin to illustrate, along with the other Scriptures above, that there’s NOWHERE we can go to hide from our God.  As King David especially brought out in Psalm 139, linked above, … there’s just nowhere we can go, especially as born-again believers. to hide from God.   And as Paul boldly taught to fellow Christians in the New Testament (see Romans 8:38), there’s simply NOTHING that can separate us, as Christians, from God’s love.

So, if any reading here are trying to hide our sin from God, … DON’T!!!  As Kind David brought out in Psalm 32, hiding will ultimately be painful and fruitless.  So, let’s come out from our hiding places, like Adam and Eve did in the Garden, because there’s NOWHERE to hide from God anyway.

My THANKFULNESS: ... Oh, Abba Father, thank You, King Jesus, … for being there with Your love and grace, … yes. even when I try to hide from You.

My Prayer Today: Oh Abba Father, ... King Jesus, ... . I pray that all reading here will join me, …  to realize there’s nowhere we can hide from You, Lord. … Amen
