My Devotional Journal: Today’s Our Daily Bread from Xochitl Dixon …  USE THIS LINK         wrote about trying to be obedient to God’s word which instructs Christians to honor their parents and pray for their family but being reluctant, seeing all the cads about loving their “greatest dad,” when the ODB author’s dad was far from that.   It’s hard to honor a parent or family member who was abusive or difficult to love, isn’t it?

However, … as we read in the Scriptures shared above and most certainly in the song inked here by Matthew West, we are NEVER to stop praying and working for others in the family of God.  For, … just as God did for Job (see Job 41:10), our Lord promises restoration and grace for those who pray, with thankful hearts, for others in the family of God,… yes, even for the nasty ones.  I, for one, today, needed that reminder.  How about you? 

My Thanksgiving:… Oh, King Jesus, thank You … for showing me Your truth about calling me to pray for fellow Christians who need Your love … and especially for fellow family members.

My Prayer Today: Oh Abba Father, ... King Jesus, … thank You, Lord, … for calling us to pray diligently for ALL in the family of God. … Amen

My Devotional Journal: Today’s Our Daily Bread from Adam R Holz …  USE THIS LINK        uses a quote from Napoleon Hill’s book in 1937, Think And Grow Rich, when he wrote  “Whatever your mind can conceive and believe, it can achieve.”  And that book creates the premise that if one simply works hard to achieve any human desire, that it will come to pass, … which, of course, is contrary to all the Biblical truths shared above.

And if my readers have read and meditated on those truths and heard the linked song, I pray we all agree with and share the truth that is our faith in Christ as Lord is the truth which provides ALL born-again Christians with salvation and God’s enabling grace, which, in turn, provides them (us) with ALL we need in life.   I, for one, believe that my faith in Christ’s death on the cross and His resurrection allow me access to God’s saving and sanctifying grace.   How about you?

My Devotional Journal: Today’s Our Daily Bread from Kenneth Petersen …  USE THIS LINK       writes about the life of George Washington Carver, a slave who dedicated his life to seeking Godly wisdom, in spite of the rigors of racist rejection to become a world-renown botanist and scientist, whose  research and wisdom led to thousands of uses of the peanut and other scientific breakthroughs.  

Carver didn’t let worldly setbacks deter his pursuit of following the way to Godly wisdom and God’s truth leading him to success in his chosen field of study and scientific pursuit.  And the lesson of today’s ODB entry is for our pursuit of wisdom by acknowledging and following God’s way as opposed to following our own way or the way of the world.  Personally I’m using God’s word to lead me in following God’s wise ways.    How about you?

My Devotional Journal: Today’s Our Daily Bread from Cindy Hess Kasper …  USE THIS LINK       relates a story of being at an outdoor concert when a storm, with pelting rain, caused her and the audience to seek protection from the storm in a nearby school gym until the storm past and they were safe … but having missed the concert.

The incident apparently reminded the ODB author for today of putting our trust, as Christians, and as believers in the truths shared above and the song linked today; … that we, who’ve been saved and follow God, must put our trust and hope in The Lord as our refuge in this life, which is, most certainly, full of storms and trouble.  Personally, again today, I run to The Lord as my refuge.  How about you?

My Devotional Journal: Today’s Our Daily Bread from Tim Gustafson …  USE THIS LINK       tells about a so-called friend who claimed to know the ODB author better than himself.   But that so-called “friend” and her empty words were not encouraging or helpful for today’s ODB author, who remembered the empty words of some of Job’s “friends,” who shared selfish comments about Job’s problems rather than being a real FRIEND for Job. 

And if my fellow readers today have taken in the highlight passage about Job’s so-called friends giving Job ill-begotten advice and the linked song as well as the Scriptures shared above, I would hope that y’all, as was I, are reminded that we Christians, with the love of God in our hearts, are called by God to reach out and help our friends if we see them in need or in trouble.  I have true FRIENDS like that who share God’s love with me whenever I need it; … how about you?
