My Devotional Journal: Today’s Our Daily Bread from Karen Pimpo … USE THIS LINK related how the memorial service for her great-uncle featured a post-service meal of roast beef, corn, and beans to commemorate how he and his wife use to prepare a sumptuous meal each Sunday morning before church and bring some needy person(s) home for a generous meal after church.
And the ODB story illustrates a principle - actually a biblical “law” - which God gave His people, in the law of the harvest, where God’s people were to leave unharvested wheat or grapes so that the needy could glean them to feed their families. Personally, I was reminded of the call to give generously from the heart to help those who are needy. Are you with me in this reminder from the heart of God?
My Thanksgiving: … Oh, King Jesus, thank You … for calling and reminding me, Lord, of my responsibility to give generously to help those who are needy.
My Prayer Today: Oh Abba Father, ... King Jesus, … thank You, Lord, … for giving us what we need to be able to help those who are needy,. … Amen
