… God exhorting believers, thru Paul, to give thanks in ALL THINGS!!

My Journal for Today:  Today’s Our Daily Bread author, Albert Lee, used used a true story involving the famous Dutch evangelist/apologist Corre Ten Boom. He wrote, In her autobiography, Corrie ten Boom described her and her sister Betsie’s horrific time in a Nazi concentration camp in the early 1940s. On one occasion they were forced to take off their clothes during an inspection. Corrie stood in line feeling defiled and forsaken. Suddenly, she remembered that Jesus had hung naked on the cross. Struck with wonder and worship, Corrie whispered to her sister, “Betsie, they took His clothes too.” Betsie gasped and said, “Oh, Corrie, . . . and I never thanked Him.”

Isn’t it true that we lose God’s perspective … that He would not bring anything into the life of the born-again Christ which was not for his/her good. Therefore, as Laura Story sings (linked above), so many things in life, especially the trials and challenges, are really His blessings in disguise. And therefore, as Betsie Ten Boom declared in her sister Corrie’s, remembrance above, we need to thank our Lord for EVERYTHING in life (see also Paul’s declaration in 1st Thess. 6: 18).

Yes, even the tough stuff.

So, as we approach the Thanksgiving holiday, let’s do what Guy Penrod sings (linked above) and count our blessings … one-by-one; … and really, do all we can to even thank God for the tough trials of life, which are very likely His blessings in disguise.

My Prayer Today:  Yes, Lord, … Help me to have the discernment to see Your blessings - even in the trials of life. … Amen
