My Journal for Today:  Today’s Our Daily Bread author, Lawrence Darmani, teaches on one of the most important lessons in all of the New Testament … i.e., that any and all who believe in God and desire to be with Him in heaven must be written in God’s “Book of Life.”

Today’s ODB author writes about the incident in Luke, Chapter 10, where Jesus receives His Disciples back from a short mission trip where His followers had encountered great spiritual successes; and Jesus puts things in perspective for them (see Luke 10:20), telling them that they should focus mostly on whether they live as if to show that their names are “written in heaven.”

My friend, … is your name written in God’s Book of Life, … written before the foundations of time? The Apostle John wrote a letter to help Christians KNOW that our names, as Christians, are in that book. You can use the link above to read that letter [see the link above to read 1st John]; but John declared his purpose in helping Christians to have assurance in their salvation in 1st John 5:13. I’ll leave it to you, if you have any doubts of your salvation, to study that letter.

But those of us who believe in the truth of Scripture (see 2nd Timothy 3: 16), can KNOW that we are saved and our names are in God’s Book of Life. Let me ask any reader here four questions to help you know if your name is in God’s Book.

Here’re my questions:
1.  Do you believe, in the depths of your heart, that the Bible is ALL truth? … YES OR NO
2.  Do you recognize and acknowledge that you are a sinner? … YES or NO
3.  Do you believe that Jesus died on the cross for your sins? … YES or NO
4.  Are you thankful that Jesus is your LORD AND SAVIOR? … YES or NO

Here’s God’s deal (based on His truth in Romans 10:9-13 - see above): … If you answered (and honestly declared to me) “YES” on all four of those questions, … YOU ARE SAVED ... and your name is in God’s book of life. But if you answer “NO” to any of those questions [or were thinking “I think so”], I would exhort you to contact me via my email (use billb13@bellsouth.net) and let me discuss the matter with you.

 Enough said for today!!

My Prayer Today:  Oh, dear Lord, … Thank You for letting me KNOW that my name is in Your Book. … Amen
