May 28 2026 … Confessing Our Sins

Devotional Song: ... GO TO THIS LINK ...    and PLEASE take the time to listen to music and lyrics from Brenda Lee singing her 1960 hit song … I’m Sorry … showing the willingness of a loved one to confess their (our) mistakes to someone we’ve hurt.

40 “But at last my people will confess their sins and the sins of their ancestors for betraying me and being hostile toward me.  42 Then I will remember my covenant with Jacob and my covenant with Isaac and my covenant with Abraham, and I will remember the land.

My Devotional JournalToday’s Our Daily Bread from Tim Gustafson  …  USE THIS LINK         uses an old movie comedy about a bumbling, but brilliant, programmer chosen to be on a mars exploration mission; … and when he stumbles onto the Mars surface, all he can say is “It wasn’t me,” … which, unfortunately, characterizes our human nature of covering up our failings rather than being willing to confess our faults and receive God’s forgiveness.

Saying “I’m sorry” is hard to do, isn't it?  But as we take in the old linked song by Brenda Lee and the Scriptures shared above, I, … for one, … am convicted about bringing my failings to God with a heart of confession and contrition.   How about you?

My Thanksgiving: … Oh, King Jesus, thank You …Lord, … for willingness to forgive when I’m willing to say “I’m sorry!”

My Prayer TodayOh Abba Father, ... King Jesus, … thank You, Lord, for Your forever forgiveness when we’re willing to come to you with our honest confessions.  … Amen
