August 17, 20147 … Together, Singing Our Love

Daily Berry Patch Devotions in 2014 - Day 229

Devotional Song: … GO TO THIS LINK  … Please go this video link to hear a large chorus singing the great Wesley classic O For A Thousand Tongues To Sing, declaring that singing God’s praises never goes out of style, especially when God’s people are singing in choral togetherness, just as we should be living together in the unity of God’s love for all mankind.

My Journal for Today: In this morning’s Our Daily Bread devotional entry, the author, Julie Ackerman Link, relates a story of Canadian Astronaut, Chris Hadfield, who sang live on TV with a chorus here on earth when he was in the space station. Part of the song he had written, “Is Someone Singing,” had a line in the chorus which declared, “You can’t make out borders from up here,” which is a thought which Jesus had for mankind when He prayed for His Church Body to come together in the unity of God’s love, which we all need to express to/for one another.

Surely it doesn’t take a Ph.D. in any field of science or to be a biblical scholar to see that Jesus’ prayer in John 17 has not been realized; and so, as we all recognize this reality, let us all here strive to be the living fulfillment of Jesus’ prayer and commandment for His disciples. And as we live for Christ, let us all be a chorus of perfect harmony, praising God and reaching out as our Lord commanded to love one another.

My Prayer for Today … Lord, help us all, as Your children, to live as a chorus of love, singing Your praises and sharing Your love with each other… ALWAYS! ... Amen
