My Devotional Journal: Today’s Our Daily Bread from Tim Gustafson …  USE THIS LINK     described how a young man, named Branden,. honored his father, who was dying of cancer in his fifties, by moving in with his parents; and knowing that his dad loved the tropics, but not being able to travel there, landscaped   his parent’s back yard with a water fall and pond, which resembled a tropical scene for Branden’s dad to enjoy (see photo) in his remaining time with the family.   

And if my readers today have taken in the linked song, and meditated on the Scriptures shared above, I hope we all come away living out the reality of God’s love, as did Branden in the ODB story, … that we all are to live out God’s love for us by being willing to show His love, through us, for others, especially our loved ones, like our parents.  I’m certainly convicted to reach out with more of God’s love today.  How about you?

My Devotional Journal: Today’s Our Daily Bread from Elisa Morgan …  USE THIS LINK    wrote of millions in Mexico and the USA, who gathered several years ago to witness a complete eclipse of the sun.  And many who had special glasses and were there to see the rare event were quoted as being able to only say the repeated phrase, “Oh, my God!”  .   

And as we take in the linked song and meditate on the Scriptures shared above, that’s the way we all should be … ALWAYS … isn’t it?  Because our God, who created all we see around us is ALWAYS worthy of our praise.  And I, for one, offer it up today … right here … as I journal my praise for our Lord.   Do you join me?

My Devotional Journal: Today’s Our Daily Bread from Nancy Gavilanes …  USE THIS LINK         writes of visiting a friend, named Jose, who was in hospice care in the final days of his life.  And in Joses’ lasts moments, the ODB author, called out to him, … “love you,” … to which Jose breathed his last, mouthing out the same words.   

And in this touching story we see really what we hear in the linked song and read in all of the Scriptures shared above, … i.e., that all Christians are called by our Lord to love others by sharing God’s good news of His saving grace.     I’m praying that all my readers today believe in the Gospel truth and are willing to share it with others.  Do you feel God’s calling as I do today?

My Devotional Journal: Today’s Our Daily Bread from Adam R Holz …  USE THIS LINK        writes of a time when he had rented a car to travel in Los Angeles and found himself driving more carefully than usual through the busy LA traffic because he was afraid to damage the rental car that was not his.  And the incident reminded the ODB author of the reality that our bodies, as Christians, are not our own; … but they have been purchased for eternity by Christ, dying on the cross to save those who believe in Him as Lord.

And that’s what the group, Casting Crowns, sings about in the linked song and the Scriptures shared above declare … that we, who believe in Christ as Lord … have become the Body of Christ and are called by God to honor The Lord with our own bodies.   And I’m going to do all I can today to do just that.   Are you with me?
