My Journal for Today: Today’s Our Daily Bread devotional entry, authored by David Roper, with highlight and reference Scriptures [see above], helps this forgetful sinner to remember that God didn’t have to save His children. He didn’t have to save or make a covenant with a con-man like Jacob. He didn’t have to allow me, a reprobate, to come to the cross and receive His loving mercy and saving grace.

No, He didn’t have to; … but He did.

And He first prophesied [see Isaiah 53: 6] and then God sent His son to die on a cross [you know John 3:16] so that even sinners like me … or Jacob … or the Apostle Paul … could be saved through our faith in His undeserved mercy and amazing grace.

Will you join me, taking in my journaling this day, to be thankful to God for the undeserved mercy He has extended through the cross … to reach down and save and sanctify His wayward lambs? That's you and me, friend. ... Oh, let us be ever grateful for His tender mercy and His amazing grace.

My Prayer for Today … Thank You, Lord, as Queen Latifah sings, … for fixing me! … Amen
