My Devotional Journal: Today's ODB author, Tim Gustafson, teaches on how believers often must have our faith tested by extreme trials and stress. The ODB author wrote: The first time I saw him, I cried. He looked like a perfect newborn asleep in his crib. But we knew he would never wake up. Not until he was in the arms of Jesus. …
This family’s precious little boy showed them—and us—that we must depend on God for everything. Especially when things go horribly wrong! The hard yet comforting truth is that God meets us in our pain. He knows the grief of losing a Son.

Tho, I’m not usually a betting man, I would wager that all my readers here have either been thru the valley of the shadow of death (you know from Psalm 23), or maybe you’re walking thru that valley right now. And I’m also sure that all of you Christians believe that our God will always be there for us and NEVER forsake us (as promised in Deuteronomy 31:6 and Heb. 13:5-6). But sometimes it’s tough to hold onto that trust when we’re in the midst of some ultra challenging moment, isn’t it, trying to believe in the truth of Romans 8:28?

That’s what David was going thru when he wrote Psalm 13. He felt that God was far away from him (see verse 1); but he chose to hold onto to His trust in the same God who had delivered him from Goliath or even from his own weaknesses (in the instance of his sin with Bathsheba (verse 5).

And this morning, as we may feel God being far away, I’m praying that we can take a few moments and hear the worship and lyrical teaching of Don Moen in today’s linked song. PLEASE take the time to see/hear it on this YouTube piece; and then praise God that He’s right here with us today and will be so ALWAYS.

My Prayer Today: Abba Father, … King Jesus, … Precious Spirit … Stay with me, Lord, thru this time of pain and trial. … Amen
