My Devotional Journal: Today’s Our Daily Bread from Tim Gustafson … USE THIS LINK the ODB author relates a true incident in which a superstar NFL football player was resting on the sidelines from the end of a game; and his coach came to Barkley, giving him the opportunity to go back into the game and set an NFL record for yardage gained in a season; but Barkley refused saying, “I’d rather see the young boys eat.”
What Barkley was saying was that he’d rather give the opportunity for his younger teammates to play rather than set a record for himself. And that is exactly the teaching point being made in today’s ODB entry, the linked song, and the Scriptures shared above … that we are called to be willing to give a portion of what God has given us to help others in this life. Personally, I’m convicted to give more to help others in my life. How about you?
My Thanksgiving: … Oh, King Jesus, thank you for for what you’ve give me to give back and help others.
My Prayer Today: Oh Abba Father, ... King Jesus, … thank You, Lord, … for giving to us so that we can give to others. … Amen
