September 5, 2016: Bubbles of Grace

Daily Berry Patch Devotions in 2016 - Day 249

Devotional Song:  … GO TO THIS LINK …   Please take the time to take in a You Tube video of images from the group Unspoken singing … Call It Grace, powerfully declaring the reality of God providing us new life into the trials we experience day-by-day.

Highlight Passage: 2nd Corinthians 4: 16 [NKJV] …
16 Therefore we do not lose heart. Even though our outward man is perishing, yet the inward man is being renewed day by day.
… God’s always there for us … even in the worst of times.

… God, repeating what He said to His people in Deut. 31:6,8.

My Journal for Today:  … Our Daily Bread author, Anne Cetas, used a cute, but profound, personal story about a little boy blowing bubbles to illustrate how we, as Christ’s disciples, should be looking for God’s grace in the trials of life. She wrote: A young boy showered my husband, Carl, and me with bubbles as he came running by us on the Atlantic City boardwalk. It was a light and fun moment on a difficult day. … Then came the bubbles. Just bubbles blown at us whimsically by a little boy in the ocean breeze—but they had a special significance to me. I love bubbles and keep a bottle in my office to use whenever I need the smile of a bubble break. Those bubbles and the vast Atlantic Ocean reminded me of what I can count on: God is always close. He is powerful. He always cares. And He can use even the smallest experiences, and briefest moments, to help us remember that His presence is like an ocean of grace in the middle of our heavy moments.

Don’t you just love it when the God of the universe, … the Creator of all, … pops into our life with a “bubble break,” … a brief and sometimes whimsical glimpse of glory, … a moment where His grace is extended to give us clarity in the fog or storms of life or power to overcome our weakness.

As the group Unspoken sings in the linked song above, … just “Call It Grace,” … because that’s exactly what it is; and it can be a life preserver in the storm when we feel like we’re going down. But, dear one, God is, as promised in the Scriptures above, … always there and always more powerful than we are … to give us what we need to withstand the storms of life.

My Prayer Today:  O, Heavenly Father, … Take us out of this storm we find ourselves in today.  Amen
