Reference Passage #1 [NKJV] : … John 3:16-18 [NLT] …
16 For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life. 17 For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved.
… Jesus has saved us from death and brought those who believe in Him to eternal life.
My Devotional Journal: Today's ODB author, Bill Crowder, relates a personal story how his father was pronounced dead from an auto accident; but later was revived and brought to life. The ODB author wrote: As a young man, my dad was traveling with a group of friends to an out-of-town sporting event when the tires of their car slipped on the rain-soaked roads. They had an accident—a bad accident. One of his friends was paralyzed and another was killed. My dad was declared dead and taken to the morgue. His shocked and grief-stricken parents came to identify him. But my dad revived from what turned out to be a deep coma. Their mourning turned to joy.
That’s a remarkable story of the joy which a family experienced thinking their loved one died but was brought back to life again. But think of the joy experienced in heaven by God’s family of angels when even one lost sinner, dead in sin, is given eternal life when that one repents of his/her sin and receives God’s free gift of His saving grace (read about that joy in parable of Jesus in Luke 15).
If you’re reading this, I pray (and will below) that any/all reading here have been made alive by Christ’s saving grace; and now, having died to sin, we will live forever with God’s family in heaven.
My Prayer Today: Heavenly Father, … Lord, I pray that any reading here, having repented of our sin, can pray our thanks to You for saving us by Your wondrous gift of saving grace. … Amen
