Like the beleaguered fisherman in the ODB story, I’m sure grateful to God for relentlessly and patiently pursuing me and saving me in spite of myself; … and then giving me the keys to God’s kingdom.  What about you?  Are you as convicted with gratitude, as Brandon Lake sings in the linked song; …  and from God’s truth in the attached Scriptures, … to live out our lives with hearts of thankfulness and gratitude … EVERY DAY?

My THANKFULNESS: ... Oh, Abba Father, thank You, King Jesus, …I’m so grateful that I’m looking for ways to express my gratitude, Lord.

My Prayer Today: Oh Abba Father, ... King Jesus, ... . I pray. again today, that all reading here will join me today, … to do what we can to thank you, Lord, for all that you’ve done for me, … mosts especially for saving me from myself.      … Amen

My Devotional JournalToday’s Our Daily Bread  Author -  Kenneth Peterson … AT THIS LINK   tells a true story of a man filing a legal restraining order against God after dealing with frustrations he just couldn’t handle.  The judge, of course, dismissed the case as ridiculous and ordered the man to be treated by mental health professionals.

But I think many - if not all of my readers here - can identify with what is depicted in the attached photo, can’t we?  Sometimes we just want to take our frustrations to God and ask for His guidance and help.  Job certainly did, … as we read in the highlight passage.  And God’s word tells us, in the Scriptures above, to bring any/all challenges to Him as we seek His peace and direction.  That’s why i’m here into God’s truth every day, praying for His guidance and help.   How about you?

My THANKFULNESS: ... Oh, Abba Father, thank You, King Jesus, …I’m so grateful for Your word, Lord, which keeps me on Your track in life.

My Devotional JournalToday’s Our Daily Bread  Author -  Lisa M Samra … AT THIS LINK  -  shares about the American tradition of two turkeys being granted a pardon by the President of the USA from being killed and roasted on Thanksgiving Day, … illustrating the power of a pardon, … just as we, who believe in God’s forgiving grace, are granted a pardon from the death sentence for our sins when we humbly and willingly confess our sins before God’s throne of grace.

And on this special Thanksgiving Day holiday, i pray that all who read my words here today, … those who join me to be so grateful for the mercy and grace offered by God to those who are willing to humbly confess and repent of their (our) sins.  Because, … if you, my friend, are one of those humble and repentant souls, YOU ARE FORGIVEN; and will live - FOREVER - with our God in heaven.  HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!

Nov 27, 2024 … Walking In The Light …

Nov 27, 2024 …  Walking In The Light

Devotional Song: ... GO TO THIS LINK ...   Please take the time to take in this song with lyrics with Tim Hughs leading in worship and singing … Light Of The World … calling on Christians to walk in the light of Christ.

==========

Highlight Passage: … John 1:5 [NLT] …

The light shines in the darkness; and the darkness can never extinguish it.

  God, thru John’s teaching of truth that Jesus came to be the Light to shine in this darkened world.

Highlight Passage (in context): … John 1:4-7 [NLT] … USE THIS LINK

… God declares through God’s word that Jesus came into the world to be THE LIGHT of the world

===========

Reference Passage: … Psalms 27:1a [NLT] … USE THIS LINK

… King David sings of God being the light of his life, defeating the fears of the darkness.

Reference Passage: … Psalms 119:105 [NLT] … USE THIS LINK

… David also declares that God’s light, thru His word, shines a light on his (and our) path in life.

Reference Passage: … Matthew 5:14-16 [NLT] …  USE THIS LINK ...

… Jesus calls on His followers (i.e., His disciples)  to reflect and shine His light into the darkness of this world.

Reference Passage: … John 8:12, 9:5 [NLT] … USE THIS LINK

… Jesus clearly states that HE is the light of the world and following His light will lead us out of the darkness.

Reference Passage: … 2Timothy 1:10 [NLT] … USE THIS LINK

… Paul calls on Timothy to preach the truth that Jesus has become THE LIGHT of His good news to dispel the darkness of the world.

Reference Passage:… Revelation 22:5 [NLT] …  USE THIS LINK ...

… God reveals to John that Jesus becomes all the light of heaven.

My Devotional JournalToday’s Our Daily Bread  Author -  Patricia Raybon … AT THIS LINK  -   relayed the story of the community of Highland Park, Michigan one year not being able to pay their utility bill and the power company turning off the power to light their street lights, making walking on the streets more dangerous.  But a non-profit group raised the money to set up solar power street lights, making the streets so much more safe.

And in a nutshell analogy that’s what Jesus did, sent by God, to become THE LIGHT of the world so that we can - AND WILL -  live in and the Light of heaven for eternity (see Scriptures shared above).   So our question today is … are we walking our paths in life illuminated by the Light of Christ; … or are we walking in the darkness of this ever darkening world?  Personally, I’m seeking to follow the Light of Christ; … how about you?

My THANKFULNESS: ... Oh, Abba Father, thank You, King Jesus, …for lighting my path with Your word.

My Prayer Today: Oh Abba Father, ... King Jesus, ... . I pray. again today, that all reading here will join me today, … to walk to - and by - the Light of Your word, Lord.     … Amen
