My Devotional JournalToday’s Our Daily Bread from Alyson Kieda …  USE THIS LINK     … relates a delightful story of a husband and wife going to the grocery to pick up a few items, but mainly to satisfy the wife’s craving for a donut.  And then upon arriving home, the couple discovered that they had forgotten to get donuts.  However, the husband went out in inclement, snowy, weather and endeared himself to his wife by getter her some donuts.

It’s a delightful illustration, from the ODB author, of God’s endearing and comforting promises, in the Scriptures shared above, of God’s willingness to be there, or even to send His Advocate - the Holy Spirit - to comfort and strengthen His people in times of trial or trouble.   Perhaps some of my readers, here today, need “ a donut” of comfort.  Well, I’m reassured of God’s comforting grace, thru HIs word.   How about you?

My Thanksgiving: … Oh, King Jesus, thank You …Lord, … for sending Your Spirit and Your word to comfort us today.

My Prayer Today: Oh Abba Father, ... King Jesus, … for giving us Your peace and comfort, thru Your word, once again today.    … Amen
