My Journal for Today: Today’s Our Daily Bread devotional entry, authored by Dennis Fisher, related a personal story of how, when he was a boy, a buddy of Dennis’ and he would lay down on their backs on a clear night and use an old pair of binoculars to marvel at the stars above. Fisher declared how it reminded him of the story of a young shepherd, David, tending his flocks and looking up at the stars and proclaiming, in Psalm 19: 1, “… the heavens declare the glory of of God.”

And I do hope that any reader here, beyond the Scriptures which I’ve referenced in my journal entry today, takes the time (about 45 minutes) to use the links above and hear the wonderful song, sung by Chris Tomlin, How Great Is Our God, which was the musical inspiration for a tour where Tomlin sung and Pastor Louis Giglio preached about God’s glory on display in God’s macroscopic and microscopic creation. And when you take in Giglio’s talk, I’m sure you will, as I did, come away in awe of how God declares Who He is and How great He is by what He has created in this world.

And I would especially challenge you to listen to Giglio telling of the tiny molecule “laminin,” depicted in the electron microscope photo attached. This molecule is what holds us together physically; and as you can see in the photo, it was found to have the shape of the cross. Listen to Giglio lecture about it; and I’m sure you’ll come away in awe, as I did, as to the glory of the God Who created us and the God we serve.

My Prayer for Today O Lord, … I stand in awe of Your creation, … yes, the vastness of the heavens; but also how You have so miraculously created every molecule in me and all of mankind. … Amen
