My Journal for Today: Today’s Our Daily Bread devotional entry, authored by Poh Fang Chia, began with the truth from Solomon in Ecclesiastes 3, linked above, that God is sovereign over the events in time; and His order and timing are perfect. However, meditation on this truth led me on a rather winding trek through God’s word [please meditate on the passages above], uncovering many Scriptures which remind us, as humans, how poorly we are at doing what Steven Covey, the management guru, once wrote: ”The main thing is to keep the main thing the main thing!”

But so often we don’t, … do we?

Really, … 700+ years before Christ was born, the Profit Isaiah documented that man would go his own way after his fall in the garden (See Isaiah 53:6a). And this was certainly re-documented by God’s word in the last passage in the book of Judges (See Judges 21: 25). However, God had a priority plan for the redemption of mankind (See Isaiah 53:6b) and sent His Son to save us and to help us order our steps (see Psalms 119:133 & Proverbs 3:5-6).

My dear ones, ... What we do today is important; … but WHY we do it is even more important!   And after being led to meditate on the truth in the many Scriptures referenced above (I pray you do too!), I'm under conviction, even though I’m somewhat of a planner in life, that I need to be more effective in seeking God's wisdom (see James 1:5-6), to prioritize my time choices … i.e., “to do” what Jesus sees as the MAIN THING (see Luke 9: 23 & Ephesians 5: 15-17), and to follow and glorify my King Jesus (Luke 9: 23 again & 1st Corinthians 10: 31b).

 ... WHAT ABOUT YOU?!

My Prayer for Today O Lord, … I beg You to help me make my main things Yours. … Amen
