=============

Reference Passage #1 [NKJV] : … Proverbs 3:5-6 [NLT] … USE THIS LINK
… If our God changed over time, we could never trust His nature … or His word; … but He doesn't change and we can ALWAYS trust Him.

Reference Passage #2 [NKJV] : … James 1:17 [NLT] …
17 Whatever is good and perfect is a gift coming down to us from God our Father, who created all the lights in the heavens. He never changes or casts a shifting shadow.
… Our God NEVER changes.

Reference Passage #3 [NKJV] : … Hebrews 13:8-9 [NLT] …
8 Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever. 9 So do not be attracted by strange, new ideas. Your strength comes from God’s grace, not from rules about food, which don’t help those who follow them.
… No matter what changes around us, we know that Jesus never does.

My Devotional Journal: Today's ODB author, Poh Fang Chia, used a personal reference to teach on the immutability of our God. The ODB author wrote: My friend, who had gone through many difficulties recently, wrote, “As I reflect on the past four semesters of student life, so many things have changed . . . . It is scary, really scary. Nothing stays forever.”
Indeed, many things can happen in two years—a career change, newfound friendship, illness, death. Good or bad, a life-altering experience may be lurking just around the corner, waiting to pounce! We simply don’t know. What great comfort, then, to know that our loving heavenly Father does not change.

The biblical doctrine of the IMMUTABILITY (or unchanging nature) of God is one of lynchpin doctrines to which our faith is based. Certainly, as the ODB entry teaches above, circumstances change all around us every day; but how could we say, and believe, the truth of Proverbs 3:5-6 would be meaningless. How could one trust a God who was continually changing?

But the truth is the opposite. We can ALWAYS rely on our God, because He, as the group 4Him sings and the scriptures above intimate, … our God NEVER changes!. As Jesus’s brother and the Author of Hebrews declared (see above), our Lord is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow; and we’ll ALWAYS be able to pin our forever on the One Who died on the cross and was risen again to make our forever … His forever.

My Prayer Today: Heavenly Father, … LORD, … You are my LORD; and You never change! … Amen
