Highlight Verse[s]: Matthew 6:3-4 [NLT] ...   3 But when you give to someone in need, don’t let your left hand know what your right hand is doing. 4 Give your gifts in private, and your Father, who sees everything, will reward you.
… Jesus teaches on how to give to the needy.

My Devotional Journal: Today's ODB author, Sheridan Voysey, uses true stories of what could be angel encounters to illustrate the reality of angels among us. … The ODB author wrote: A clear, glass vase with bell-shaped lilies of the valley, pink tulips, and yellow daffodils greeted Kim at her front door. For seven months, an anonymous believer in Jesus sent Kim beautiful bouquets from a local flower shop. [see photo] Each monthly gift arrived with a note filled with scriptural encouragement and signed: “Love, Jesus.”
Kim shared photos of these secret deliveries on Facebook. The flowers gave her opportunity to celebrate an individual’s kindness and to acknowledge the way God expressed His love to her through His people. As she trusted Him through her battle with a terminal disease, every colorful blossom and handwritten note affirmed God’s loving compassion for her.

That’s a strong example to follow, isn’t it? Just as the challenge Tim McGraw brings in his song … to ALWAYS be “humble and kind.” But the ODB example and the song challenge is really only the living out of what Jesus challenged those who would follow Him (see Luke 9:23). It’s simply the living out of what the Apostle Paul challenged fellow Christians … i.e., to have the attitude of Christ (see Phil. 2:3-8, especially verse 5).

It’s simple - but very challenging - to live FOR Jesus by living LIKE Jesus. And I’m convicted that I can so much more - maybe even today - to live for my Lord rather than for myself. How about you?

My THANKFULNESS: ... Oh Abba Father, ... thank You, Lord, … for Your walk among us to show us how we can live like You.

My Prayer Today: Oh Abba Father, ... King Jesus, ... I pray, Lord, that all reading here will join me today, to give and live for others as our Lord lived - and gave His life - for us. … Amen
