My Devotional Journal:  Today’s Our Daily Bread Author, Unpublished online - Jennifer Benson Schuldt  AT THIS LINK      told of a time when she used make up to hide an irritated patch of skin near her eye.  However, as it worsened, our ODB author realized that she needed to go to a doctor for diagnosis and treatment.  And when she did, the ODB author decided not to cover up the irritated patch of skin with make-up, … letting the doctor see exactly what was her concern.

And the ODB entry for today uncovers a pattern that is all too often prevalent in humans; … yes, even in Christians; … and that is trying to hide our sins and refusing to confess and repent to receive God’s mercy and forgiving grace.  That was the message that Solomon brought out in the the Highlight passage of Proverbs 28:13-14; and it’s also exposed in King David’s witness in Psalms 51 and 32.

Personally, being open and honest about myself is one of the hardest things I ever did when I confessed past pattens of recurring sin to my wife … and ultimately to God, leading to a life of repentance and forgiveness.   Are any of my readers, like Adam and Eve, hiding in the bushes of His garden?   If so, my friend, it’s time to come out and confess to God; and let Him cleanse you completely.

<My Thanksgiving: … Oh, King Jesus, thank You, … Lord … for leading me out into the open with Your forgiving and cleansing grace.

My Prayer TodayOh Abba Father, ... King Jesus, ... . I praise You, Lord. … for cleansing us of our sin when we’re willing to confess to You.  … Amen
