Berry Patch Devotions in 2019 - Day 254
Devotional Song: … GO TO THIS LINK … Please take the time to take in a YouTube of images and lyrics from the group Mercy Me singing … Word of God Speak … Poignantly singing of how we must look to the Word of God to speak to our minds and give us God’s wisdom.
=============
Highlight Verse[s]: Proverbs 15:14 [NKJV] …
14 The heart of him who has understanding seeks knowledge, but the mouth of fools feeds on foolishness.
… What are we pouring into our minds to feed us with Godly wisdom?
==============
Highlight Passage [context]: Proverbs 15:9-22 [NKJV]… USE THIS LINK …
… God, thru Solomon, on wisdom to lead our lives.
=============
Reference Passage : … Psalm 119:9-11, 105 [NKJV] … USE THIS LINK …
… God’s prescription for keeping the mind pure and using His word as our Spirit-led “GPS” in life.
Reference Passage : … Proverbs 23:7 [NKJV] …
7 As a man thinks in his heart, so is he.
… We become what we put into our minds.
Reference Passage : … Romans 12:2 [NKJV] …
2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
… We must avoid letting our minds conform to the ways of the world and seek only God’s will, which comes most securely and accurately thru His word.
Reference Passage : … Philippians 4:8 [NKJV] …
8 Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.
… Garbage in - Garbage out! … God in - God out!
My Devotional Journal: Today's ODB author, Poh Fang Chia, uses a social trend to warn Christians about the use of the internet in our lives. … As I was preparing to go on a mission trip with some young people, the most frequently asked question was, “Is there Wi-Fi?” And I assured them there would be. So just imagine the wails and groans one night when the Wi-Fi was down!
Many of us become anxious when we’re separated from our smartphones. And when we do have our iPhones or Androids in our hands, we can be fixated on our screens.
Like many things, the internet and all that it allows us to access can become either a distraction or a blessing. It depends on what we do with it.
I don’t think anyone reading here would deny that we’re becoming a culture which is dependent on the internet for information and for direction in life [see photo]. And when we, as God seeking believers, seek to shape our choices and behavior, what does this mean? Well, if we take the truth of the scriptures above as God’s prescription for wisdom to help us thru life, we have to be concerned that we’re letting the world, thru the internet, lead our lives so strongly.
The reference Scriptures above clearly say that our minds are shaped by what we put into them; and you probably know the old cybernetic saying, “G.I. - G.O.” … ”Garbage in, garbage out!” … Well, … there’s another version of “G.I. - G.O.” to consider in light of the truth of all we glean above from God’s word; and that is “Godliness in, Godliness out!”
If it is true that what we allow or put into our minds shapes our behavior (and it does!!), then we need to be feeding our minds with God’s truth and His desires for our lives, shouldn’t we? Well, where do we get that? … From the internet? … Well, maybe … IF … the internet is reflecting God’s word! So, I pray that we’re all becoming more and more discerning from and dependent on God’s truth, thru His word, and guarding against becoming led by the ways of the world thru the web of lies that can be found on the internet.

My THANKFULNESS: … Oh Abba Father, … thank You, Lord, … for your word to guide us thru life with Your light of truth.

My Prayer Today: Oh Abba Father, … King Jesus, … I pray, Lord, that all reading here seek you way thru life from Your word. … Amen
