Reference Passage of the Day #1: Hebrews 11: 1 [Often our faith is measured by waiting faithfully.] … [NLT] …
1 What is faith? It is the confident assurance that what we hope for is going to happen. It is the evidence of things we cannot yet see. 2 God gave his approval to people in days of old because of their faith.

Reference Passage of the Day #2: Proverbs 3: 5-6 [We won’t go wrong if our relationships and partnerships are choices following God’s Spirit.] … [NLT] …
5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. 6 Seek his will in all you do, and he will direct your paths.

My Journal for Today: Today my morning time with the Lord brought me to hear one of my favorite Christian singers, singing one of my favorite Christians songs, … Find Us Faithful; and my devotional study reminded me that waiting on God to reveal His will and His way for us in life is often an active matter of patience in our walk with the Lord.

And Os Hillman’s highlight verse to declare this truth was take from Psalm 27: 14, … one of King David’s psalms, … this one (read it with the link above) singing about David’s desire for protection in his walk with the Lord as well as his desire to live in the house of the Lord forever. But David closes this song with a powerful reminder that our walk through life with the Lord often requires a very active patience in waiting for God to reveal His will and His way for us. And certainly David had learned this lesson, having been anointed as King at a very young age and having to actively wait for years for God to bring David into God’s watch-care as King.

My friend, have you learned, as I have, that being patient and faithfully waiting on God is not a passive process? No, … it requires a lot of very ACTIVE faithfulness, … often enduring some pretty tough circumstances in life to find what God’s will and purpose is for us. Yes, again as I so often find myself citing Proverbs 3: 5-6, trusting and waiting on God can be a very active and rigorous process before God reveals the path on which He wants to lead us to be faithful followers of Christ, as Steve Green sings about in his song.

Yes, as Steve Green sings, “… may all who come behind us find us faithful!” … But for that to happen, we’re often going to have to stretch and exercise our muscles of patience, … waiting on God to show us His will in His good – and perfect – timing.

My Prayer for Today … Lord, I wait on You today. Show me Your way; and I will follow You. … Amen
