May 8, 2015 … “All Aboard!”

Daily Berry Patch Devotions in 2015 - Day 128

Devotional Song: ... GO TO THIS LINK  … Please take the time to take in a video of Steve Green singing the poignant truth… People Need The Lord, expressing the reality that we will pass people today who are lost and headed for hell; … BUT … God is not willing that any should perish. Hence, AS AT THIS LINK Alan Jackson sings - Softly and Tenderly Jesus is Calling … for anyone who would turn to Him to get on board to heaven and be saved.

Highlight Passage 2nd Peter 3: 9 [NKJV] …
9 The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.
… It’s the fervent, persistent prayer which God hears the most.

Reference Passage #1 - Romans 10: 8-13 [NKJV] …
8 But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” [Deut. 30:14] (that is, the word of faith which we preach): 9 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. 11 For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.” [Isaiah 28:16] 12 For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, for the same Lord over all is rich to all who call upon Him. 13 For “whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.” [Joel 2:32]
… Paul on what it takes to be saved.

My Journal for Today: Today’s Our Daily Bread author, Jennifer Benson Schuldt, reminded me of bygone days when I would go to old train stations and see the Conductor hanging out of the train [see attached photo], patiently waiting for a few late stragglers who were running to the train, as he cried ”All Aboard!” And then ODB author Schuldt took her readers to Peter’s plea to the persecuted in his second letter to Asia Minor, as he pled for Christians to remain strong in spite of persecution and for any/all who were lost to get on board as a patient Jesus gives His call for “All Aboard” before it is too late.

Peter, in 2nd Peter, Chapter 3, of his letter also mentions his fellow Apostle, Paul, who had given the call for sinners to get on board with Jesus, … as to any/all in the Romans 10 passage linked above. And, as one of the inked songs above by Alan Jackson proclaims … that Jesus is tenderly calling to anyone who would believe … to get on board His train to Heaven, as well as Steve Green singing the plea for all who need the Lord to respond to the “ALL ABOARD!” call from Messiah. … And that’s to everyone!!

So, as the train conductors of old used to call, … I call to anyone who might read this, to jump on board God’s train to heaven before it leaves the station and it’s too late to come with the Conductor of all, our Lord, Jesus, … Who will come again one day to take His faithful home to heaven.

My Prayer Today: Oh Lord, … I’m on board!! Amen
