My Devotional Journal: Today's ODB author, Randy Kilgore, tells a personal story to illustrate the power of a personal testimony of how Jesus Christ changes a life. You can read the ODB for today by going to the “Blogger Note” link below. But earlier this month I also wrote (USE THIS LINK) about the power of our own story of transformation in Christ. Perhaps reading my blog now might help bolster any reader’s confidence in the power of our story to give glory to our Lord.

After His resurrection, and just before Jesus ascended into heaven, He charged His disciples (i.e., all who are born-again in Him) to “GO” and be His witnesses to all who will listen to our story (see Matt. 28:19 and Acts 1:8. Dolly Parton joyously sings just that in that wonderful old Advent Carol (linked above) … that we are to “GO TELL IT ON THE MOUNTAIN”, … not only that Jesus was born … but that He has changed our lives forever.

The question I’m asking of myself (and perhaps you should ask of yourself), have we been the witnesses Christ has called us to be in 2016; … but even more importantly, will we “go tell it on the mountain” in 2017?

My Prayer Today: Heavenly Father, … Lord, give me the empowering grace to share how YOUR STORY changed MY STORY for eternity. ... Amen

Blogger Note:  Everyday during this year, my daily devotional blogs are influenced by the reading and study of the online devotional blog entitled Our Daily Bread, distributed online via email by RBC Ministries.  If you GO TO THIS LINK on the date of my blog, you can read/study the ODB blogs; or you can subscribe to the blog via email at that site.
