17 If this be so, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and he will deliver us out of your hand, O king. 18 But if not, be it known to you, O king, that we will not serve your gods or worship the golden image that you have set up.”

… The faith of three who would not yield to serve a false king over their one-true God.

Reference Passage: … John 15:7 [ESV] …

Jesus’ promise to His disciples that He will ALWAYS be there for those who believe in and abide in His grace.

My Devotional JournalToday's Our Daily Bread author, Alyson Kieda, AT THIS LINK   writes about how a woman serving two-firefighters in a restaurant paid for their food to honor their willingness to go into a fire and risk death to protect the rest of us when fires break out.

And that story reminded the ODB author of the faith of Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, who went into the Babylonian fiery furnace because they were unwilling to abandon their faith in God … even under the threat of death by fire at the hands of a pagan king [see photo and highlight passages].

The question raised by this ODB entry, of course, challenges us to stand up, with our faith in the delivering promises of God and in the face of the fiery trials of life as the group Mercy Me sings in the linked song or God’s truth speaking out in the Scriptures above.  And I pray we will have the faith of those 3 Jewish boys if we face any fiery trial today.

My THANKFULNESS: ... Oh Abba Father, ... thank You, King Jesus, … Your promise to deliver us into Your hands and out of the fiery trials of life.

My Prayer Today: Oh Abba Father, ... King Jesus, ... . I pray that all reading here will join me, … to trust that our God will ALWAYS be there to deliver us from the fires of life.  … Amen
