My Devotional Journal: Today's Our Daily Bread author, Lisa M Samra … AT THIS LINK … tells of a Japanese art form, called Nihonga, where various types of crushed minerals are used to create beautiful paintings. One of the most famous artists painting with this technique is a Christian artist, Makoto Fujimura (see photo), who calls the art form, “slow art,” and sees his art as representing the Gospel because it makes things beautiful out of brokenness just a Jesus did thru His suffering on the cross.
And many of us, yours truly most certainly, have been recreated and transformed from our brokenness into something beautiful which can depict our Lord’s beautiful canvas of redemption for God’s glory.
Every morning I pray, as David did in Psalm 139:23-24, for God to set me on HIS path of righteousness, … where I can reflect His light of beauty into an ever darkening world. How about you, is that your prayer?
My THANKFULNESS: ... Oh, Abba Father, thank You, King Jesus, … for giving me the opportunity to reflect something beautiful out of my past brokenness.
My Prayer Today: Oh Abba Father, ... King Jesus, ... . I pray that all reading here will join me, … to reflect some of Your beautiful light, Lord, shining out from my brokenness into this dark world. … Amen
