June 4, 2024 …  So Thirsty And So SO Thankful

Devotional Song: ... GO TO THIS LINK ...

Please take the time to take in this song with lyrics from Steven Curtis Chapman singing His Strength Is Perfect … Poignantly and yet powerfully singing of how our Lord provides His strength to cover our weakness.

So ... SO ... thirsty !!

==========

Highlight Passage: … Psalm 42:1  [NLT] …

As the deer longs for streams of water, so I long for You, O God.

God’s psalmist uses the thirst of a deer to illustrate any believer’s need for God’s strength in times of weakness.

Highlight Passage (in context): … Psalms 42:1-5  [NLT] … USE THIS LINK

… A psalm for believers who desperately need refreshing and strength from God in times of weakness or thirst.

Reference Passage: … Deuteronomy 31:6 [NLT] …

So be strong and courageous! Do not be afraid and do not panic before them. For the Lord your God will personally go ahead of you. He will neither fail you nor abandon you.”

… God’s promise, thru Moses to Joshua and God’s people to be with him (them) ALWAYS.

Reference Passage: … Matthew 28:20 [NLT] …

20 Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age.”

… Jesus charges His disciples to teach His ways to fellow Christians and to be with them (us) ALWAYS.

Reference Passage: … Ephesians 6:10-13 [NLT] … USE THIS LINK

God’s truth, thru the Apostle Paul about using God’s armament (i.e., His strength) to fortify His disciples in times of weakness.

Reference Passage: … Philippians 4:13, 19  [NLT]    USE THIS LINK …

… The Apostle Paul witnesses to his need for God’s strength and for His God providing all of his needs.

Reference Passage:  … 1Corinthians 12:9  [NLT]

Each time He said,  “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me.

… Paul remembers the teaching and promise of Jesus that The Lord’s strength would be available to His followers in times of their (our) weakness.

My Devotional Journal:  Today’s Our Daily Bread Author, James Banks -  AT THIS LINK  - told of an adventure the ODB author shared with friends trying to climb and hike out of the Grand Canyon, but mis-calculating the amount of water they would need.  And then, … as they were getting weak and in desperation for water, … the group miraculously found a few bottles of water left by caring tourists, with a note reading, “Knew you’d need this. Enjoy!”

And today’s linked song and the Scriptures from God’s word provided above, attest to God’s promises, thru various men of God in The Bible, including no less than Jesus, Himself, … all of whom testify or give witness that our God is ALWAYS there to provide His faithful with the refreshment and strength that they (we) need when they (we) are weak and in need of God’s strength.

So, if you’re there now, thirsting for God’s strength, …KNOW that He’s there to provide you with the strength you need.

My THANKFULNESS: ... Oh, Abba Father, thank You, King Jesus, … for giving me Your strength when I need it today.

My Prayer Today: Oh Abba Father, ... King Jesus, ... . I pray. again today, that all reading here will join me today, …to seek and receive Your strength, Lord, when I need it today … and then again tomorrow.           … Amen
