My Devotional JournalToday’s Our Daily Bread Author - Mike Wittmer  AT THIS LINK       told of how some members of his church wondered about their Pastor’s position to purchase a steeple for their church building when there were so many poor people in their area to help.  And the pastor referred to Jesus, quoting from Deuteronomy 12:8 that there will always be poor in their lives but followers of Jesus are to live and love others the way Jesus did, showing their love for others and honoring those who gave to build a steeple on their chapel building.  But the Pastor them realized that he was taking Jesus’ remarks out of context in this situation.

And if my readers have taken in the ODB entry, the Scriptures shared above, and the linked song, I think my all of us will be as instructed and convicted to be doing  ALL we can to reach out to others, loving them as Jesus has loved us.  So, let’s all ask ourselves what we can be doing TODAY to reach out and even wash the feet of those who need us, … just like Jesus showed to His disciples in that upper room the night before He went to the cross for you and me!

My Thanksgiving: … Oh, King Jesus, thank You, … for showing me what Your love is all about.

My Prayer TodayOh Abba Father, ... King Jesus, ... . I praise You, … again Lord. …for leading us to love others just as You have loved us.   … Amen
