My Devotional Journal: Today’s Our Daily Bread Author - Dave Brandon … AT THIS LINK … tells of how in 2007 one Michael Sparks purchased a souvenir copy of The Declaration Of Independence at a thrift store for $2.48 (see photo) … Later, thinking that the parchment souvenir looked too old to be a cheap souvenir, had the document examined by experts who determined that he had secured one of the 20 Presidential copies of the Declaration commissioned by President John Quincy Adams in 1820. Sparks later sold his “souvenir” at auction for $477,650.00.
That’s a great story of receiving a valuable treasure like that of Michael Sparks. However, if you’re a born-again Christian, like me, you know that we have a gift of freedom worth far more than what Sparks found in that gift shop. And our gift is the priceless freedom we have in our salvation from sin, purchased for us, and given to us, by Jesus on the Cross. So, join us Americans - on this Date that we celebrate our freedom - to receive the gift of eternal freedom, given to us on the day Jesus died on a cross that we could be free from our prison of sin … FOREVER !!!
My Thanksgiving: … Oh, King Jesus, thank You, … for the gift of freedom You gave me with Your death and resurrection. .
My Prayer Today: Oh Abba Father, ... King Jesus, ... . I praise You, … again today, Lord. … for giving us Your priceless gift of eternal, and glorious, freedom. … Amen
