Devotional Song: ... Go to this link … Please take the time to take in a video of Larnelle Harris and Sandi Patty, singing the powerful song … I’ve Just Seen Jesus, which I pray that we see when we look into a mirror; but if we don’t, what are we to do about it?
Highlight Passage Philippians 2: 5 [NKJV] …

Reference Passage #1 - 1st Corinthians 13: 10-12 [NKJV] …
10 But when that which is perfect has come, then that which is in part will be done away … 11 When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child; but when I became a man, I put away childish things. 12 For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I shall know just as I also am known.
… In the mirror, do we see Jesus; … or at least some of Him?
My Journal for Today: Today’s Our Daily Bread devotional entry, authored by David Roper, discussed a dangerous … or wondrous … word picture, … the subject of mirrors. I say “dangerous” or “wondrous” because when we look into a mirror, what we see can be so revealing that it either causes us to be self-centered (thereby being “dangerous”); or we, in looking in the mirror, can become Savior-centered (which is a “wondrous” prospect). … Let me explain further.
When you look into a mirror, what do you see? Yourself, right? And what is your reaction/response. Seeing you in that mirror; … is that the you that you’d like to see? Does looking into the mirror cause you to want to break the mirror (defensiveness), or maybe to run from the mirror (denial); or does looking into that mirror help you to see the “Saviorness” you desire to become (determination)?
I love the little photo I’ve attached with the little kitten looking in the mirror and seeing the Lion of Judah! … And that is my prayer for any of us as we look into a mirror today. And wouldn’t it be great, if, in doing such a self-examination, that we could declare what Larnelle Harris and Sandi Patty sing in the powerful song linked above. When I hear that song, thinking about looking into a mirror, I know, as Paul wrote about in the highlight passage above (see Phil. 2: 5), that I have much humility to strive for until I can look into the mirror and see a reflection of my Lord and Savior, … King Jesus.
And until I look into the mirror of God’s word, when I come here day-by-day, and see my Lord’s image, I will keep using that mirror of truth to help me be reshaped into His image.
My Prayer for Today … O Lord, … I stand before Your mirror of truth, in your word today, Lord, and I see dimly a reflection of who I am and Who You are; but there is much more for me to do to allow You to remake me into Your image. I will be back here tomorrow, Lord; and I pray to see more of Your image in the mirror of Your word than I see today. … Amen
