Reference Passage #1 - Proverbs 3: 5-6 [NKJV] …
5 Trust in the Lord with ALL your heart and lean not on your own understanding. 6 In ALL your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your paths.
… Living a life for King Jesus, rather than for self, is simply not NATURAL
Reference Passage #2 - Romans 8: 28 [NKJV] …
28 And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose.
… So often I make reference to this truth from God’s word, … expressing how challenging it is to accept God’s will and His ways and His timing in ALL matters our life
Reference Passage #3 - Romans 12: 1 [NKJV] …
1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service.
… If we but live our lives in sacrifice to God and others, we will find our Lord blessing us
My Journal for Today: Today’s Our Daily Bread devotional entry, authored by Anne Cetas, uses a personal reflection to illustrate the point that we often encounter God’s blessings in curious or unexpected ways when we live our lives in surrender to The Lord.
Author Cetas then used the wonderful OT story of Ruth being led to a relationship with Boaz as Ruth served her mother-in-law, Naomi, in such a selfless way. Perhaps you recall some blessing or unexpected encouragement you received by God’s providence when you were simply serving King Jesus in some selfless way. How often do we feel blessed beyond our expectations when we choose to bless someone else?
Yes, I could sum up the message I received from today’s ODB and my time here with God this morning in one sentence: God blesses those who bless Him with their worship of service.
So, today, let’s go out and live for King Jesus and watch for how He brings blessing into our lives. But as Laura Story sings (linked above), don’t be surprised if those blessings don’t come disguised in the challenges of life. And as the attached photo depicts, we have to declare that we’re in God’s hands today and all days, living and serving Him with our choices and service.
My Prayer for Today … O Lord, … I will do all I can today to serve You; and I will wait for Your blessing. … Amen
