My Journal for Today: Today’s Our Daily Bread devotional entry, authored by Randy Kilgore, very elegantly described our desire as Christians to return to the PLACE OF PROMISE; and I’ll not try to diminish Kilgore’s clear and powerful wording. He wrote …
"A thousand strands of time, events, and people weave into a tapestry we call PLACE. More than just a house, PLACE is where meaning, belonging, and safety come together under the covering of our best efforts at unconditional love. PLACE beckons us with memories buried deep in our souls. Even when our place isn’t perfect, its hold on us is dramatic, magnetic."
WOW! That is beautifully written to describe the longing of our souls as believers in The Christ … in our desire to return - WITH HIM - to the PLACE He promised to His Disciples in the Upper Room discourse (see John 14: 1-4 copied above). It is THE PLACE about which Nehemiah prayed to return in Nehemiah 1: 4-11, also linked above.
And I hope that you take in the image of the photo I’ve attached herein as well as the lovely rendition of that great song, “Somewhere There’s a Place for Us,” which expresses what I believe is the longing of all our hearts … to return to THE PLACE God has waiting for all who believe in Him and pursue a return to the purified presence of our King Jesus.
So, let’s get on that road; and head in the direction our King is leading us … TODAY!
