My Journal for Today: Today’s Our Daily Bread devotional entry, authored by David C McCasland, made his point about walking the walk of integrity and honesty by relating the story of how Charles Ponzi made an infamous name for himself in the early 1920s by stealing millions from his clients in an intricate investment scheme, the legacy of which now bears his name … “Ponzi Scheme!” If you were Ponzi’s grandson, would you want to go into the investment business, trying to advise your clients with your name being “Ponzi?”
Today, I have entitled my blog, ”Pass It On,” primarily trying to share the message from Solomon in his Proverbs (see highlight passages linked/copied above) on how we, as Christians, must walk-the-walk of integrity, if for no other reason than so that others can trust us and we will glorify God in everything we think, say, and do.
What kind of a legacy did a Charles Ponzi leave for his family to follow? What kind of a legacy did Jesus Christ leave for us to follow (see Luke 9: 23, hoping you know this one by heart and live it!)?
What kind of a legacy will I leave by the decisions I make today?
My Prayer Today: Help me, Lord, to follow You and to lead others by Your light into the future. Amen
