15 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. 16 For by Him all things were created that are in heaven and that are on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or principalities or powers. All things were created through Him and for Him. 17 And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist.
… It’s all HIS … FROM Him and FOR Him!
My Journal for Today: Today’s Our Daily Bread devotional entry, authored by Jennifer Benson Schuldt, used a personal story of buying a display map of the world for her son. She wrote … "I knew my son would enjoy receiving a map of the world for his birthday. After some shopping, I found a colorful chart of the continents, which included illustrations in every region. A birdwing butterfly hovered over Papua, New Guinea. Mountains cascaded through Chile. A diamond adorned South Africa. I was delighted, but I wondered about the label at the bottom of the map: ’Our World’."
Author Schuldt was bothered because she knew that label on the map was not correct and it took away from the truth that all we see around us and all we experience in this world, which is not ”Our World.” … And that truth is heralded by all the glory we see and experience in God’s creation, which we see touted in the song linked above and especially by God’s own declaration in His world (see the passages copied/linked above).
And I will write no more … just pray that we all take in these truths and do all we can to steward God’s world and thank Him for giving it to us … for our enjoyment and even more, for His glory.
My Prayer Today: Lord, I’m sure I’m joined here by others who will join me, praising You and thanking You for all you have created which lauds Your glory. Amen
