Daily Berry Patch Devotions in 2015 - Day 120
Devotional Song: ... GO TO THIS LINK … Please take the time to take in a video of the lyrics sung by Crystal Lewis and Ron Kenoly, singing their uplifting Christian classic… Beauty For Ashes, declaring the reality of the ultimate makeover of our soul when we receive His saving and sanctifying grace.
Highlight Passage Colossians 3: 9-10 [NKJV] …
9 Do not lie to one another, since you have put off the old man with his deeds, 10 and have put on the new man who is renewed in knowledge according to the image of Him who created him, …
… We do not disobey the God Who has created us and is remaking us into His image.

Highlight Context - Colossians 3: 1-11 [NKJV] … USE THIS LINK …
… We are to live in obedience to the One Who is making us over in His own image.

Reference Passage #1 - 2nd Corinthians 5: 17 [NKJV] …
17 Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.
… Let us relish in the truth that, in Christ, we are new - all new!!!
Reference Passage #2 - Philippians 1: 6 [NKJV] …
6 … being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ; …
… In any truly born-again Christian, God’s Spirit is doing a complete makeover of our heart, soul, and body; and we will be completely remade and new when we join Him in glory.
My Journal for Today: Today’s Our Daily Bread author, Bill Crowder, related to the modern-day practice of using an image consultant when one becomes powerful or famous to create a new image which will be more appealing to the public. And sometimes that so-called “image consultant” will have make-up artists, hair-dressers, and photographers to remake the target person into a whole new persona, much as in the attached photo.
But the ultimate “make-over” is found when God is our image consultant. And when He calls one and he/she comes to Him, … our Lord begins a make-over that will recreate that one (hopefully you and me) into His own image. It is the make-over referred to in the highlight and reference Scriptures above.
And the one to which I identify the most is 2nd Corinthians 5: 17, copied above. And it is the truth from God’s word for which I’ve become a poster-boy. Yes, anyone, especially my wife, who knew me before and after I came to receive Christ as Lord and Savior, would attest to the truth of that verse. Bill Berry, before Christ, was a hardened atheist, compulsively pursuing pornography, and a total failure as a husband and father. Yet, I believe, those who know me now, Rev. Bill Berry, would see a surrendered believer in Christ, compulsively pursuing God’s word; and one who has become (i pray) a devoted, loving husband, father, and grand-father. … OUT with the old … IN with the new … with God moving me toward the complete make-over He has promised in Phil. 1: 6.
Please, ... for those who can empathize, let us join in a rousing … HALLELUJAH!!!
My Prayer Today: Oh Lord, You have chosen to make me over in Your image, to which I surrender and am doing all I can to become more like You today than yesterday … but even more tomorrow than today. Amen
