My Journal for Today: … Our Daily Bread author, Tim Gustafson, in teaching about restraint and self-control, offered a very timely message, writing: Most of us hope for good government. We vote, we serve, and we speak out for causes we believe are fair and just. But political solutions remain powerless to change the condition of our hearts.
And the Americans who read this know we’re going thru a trying time now, involving a bizarre election and transfer of government. So, the ODB entry today is definitely on spot.
But at the time of Jesus’ passion, even His own Disciples wondered how this man, Whom they thought was Messiah and their conquering King, would submit Himself to such humiliation and degradation; but He did … all the way to the Cross where He became the conqueror of sin/death.
And I pray today that everyone who reads here has come to the place of recognizing, surrendering, and following our conquering King, Jesus, … Who will one day return and defeat all the forces of evil remaining in this world. And He will reign forever on His throne, established by His Father in heaven. So, we need not fear what is going on in our world or our election. Our conquering King Jesus is in control; and His plan is being worked out in our time. And one day He will return to rule over all - FOREVER (see Revelation 19:11-16). So, our faith in King Jesus makes all who follow Him more than conquerers (see Romans 8:37).
Our question from today’s ODB is … DO WE REALLY BELIEVE IN HIM?!!
My Prayer Today: Heavenly Father, … Lord, You have conquered all; and You reign for our well being. … Amen
