My Devotional Journal: Today's ODB author, Bill Crowder, related a personal interview with Christians being persecuted unjustly and horribly harshly for their faith. The ODB author wrote: At a conference in Asia, I had two eye-opening conversations in the span of a few hours. First, a pastor told of spending eleven years in prison for a wrongful murder conviction before he was cleared. Then, a group of families shared how they had spent a fortune to escape religious persecution in their homeland, only to be betrayed by the very people they had paid to bring about their rescue. Now, after years in a refugee camp, they wonder if they will ever find a home.
Right now, the people in my country are experiencing a legal/justice system (see photo) which has legalized the systematic killing of babies. It is moving rapidly to redefine what God has instituted as His basis for society and that is marriage/family. And it may soon back our culture into a corner where God has no option but to crush what is left of our culture.
But, as Christians, doing all we can to be faithful to our Lord, King Jesus, we may be living thru times predicted by the Apostles Paul (see Romans 1:18-32) and Peter (see 2Peter 3). However, the answer to all our questions … of all the anti-biblical and anti-Christ injustice and actions we see unfolding in our world, is, as Jeremy Camp powerfully sings, ”THE ANSWER” … and that, of course, is Jesus!!
Our Lord promised (in Luke 4:18-19) that He was the Messiah Who had come to see us set free from the bondage of our sin; and He declared that, tho we would encounter trials in our world, HE had overcome those trials and would save us from them (see the passages in John’s Gospel above).
So, take heart, fellow Christian. If you’re truly in Christ, He may even come today to take us to Himself forever! ... So, let's be ready!!
My Prayer Today: Abba Father, … King Jesus, … Precious Spirit … Come soon, Lord Jesus!! … Amen
