Berry Patch Devotions in 2017 - Day 120
Devotional Song: … GO TO THIS LINK … Please take the time to take in a YouTube video of images and song from Maureen McGovern singing his … The Morning After … poignantly singing of the image that every sunrise presents as we hope for light of Christ when we face the darkness of a night or storm in the dark.

Highlight Verse[s]: Psalm 130:6 [NLT] …
6 I long for the Lord more than sentries long for the dawn, yes, more than sentries long for the dawn.
… When we’re in the midst of some dark storm of life, we deeply desire to see the light of the morning - God’s light - shining down hope upon us.

Highlight Passage [context]: Psalms 130:1-6 [NLT] …USE THIS LINK …
… The Psalmist expresses the desire of believers to see the light of God’s hope while walking in some darkness of life.

Reference Passage : … Proverbs 3:5-6 [NLT] … USE THIS LINK …
… When we’re in the darkness of self doubt, we must trust that The Son will come to light our way.
Reference Passage : … Lamentations 3:22-23 [NLT] …
22 The faithful love of the Lord never ends! His mercies never cease. 23 Great is His faithfulness; his mercies begin afresh each morning.
… Like the dawn, God’s mercies shine forth every morning when we’re walking thru the darkness of some storm in life.
My Devotional Journal: Today's ODB author, Lisa Samra, uses a British tradition to illustrate our hope in Christ when we’re looking for the dawn of Spring to break from the cold of Winter. … The ODB author wrote: Every May Day (May 1) in Oxford, England, an early morning crowd gathers to welcome spring. At 6:00, the Magdalen College Choir sings from the top of Magdalen Tower. Thousands wait in anticipation for the dark night to be broken by song and the ringing of bells.
Like the revelers, I often wait. I wait for answers to prayers or guidance from the Lord.
We’ve been there, haven’t we; … dealing with some darkness or storm of life, … hoping … anticipating … for the break of dawn (see photo)? In the darkness we hold onto the hope of the morning light, … the hope of the light of Christ, appearing on the horizon to break the darkness we’re experiencing in some challenging, … even dreadful, … experience in life.
But, my fellow Christian, if we’re in the darkness now, as Maureen McGovern sings, “there’s got to be a morning after.” So, … we must wait for the Son to rise in the morning; … because He will … if not in this life, the next.

My THANKFULNESS: … Oh Lord, Jesus, thank You for Your hope of the morning after.

My Prayer Today: Abba Father, … King Jesus, … Precious Spirit … I wait in the dark today for the Son to rise tomorrow. … Amen
