… God wants us to treat others as He would treat us.

My Devotional Journal: Today's ODB author, James Banks, used a personal story about his son posing as a homeless person to gain perspective on their plight.  … The ODB author wrote: My son Geoff recently participated in a “homeless simulation.” He spent three days and two nights living on the streets of his city, sleeping outside in below freezing temperatures. [see photo] …
Geoff told me later it was one of the hardest things he’d ever done, yet it profoundly impacted his outlook on others. He spent the day after his “simulation” seeking out homeless people who had been kind to him during his time on the street, doing what he could to assist them in simple ways. They were surprised to discover he wasn’t actually homeless and were grateful he cared enough to try to see life through their eyes.

I know I often use Joy Williams’ poignant song (see link above) to illustrate what Jesus taught in His teaching in the highlight passage (see Matt 25:31-40) … as we live our lives trying to show to others the love/grace which our Lord has shown to us.

The Apostle Paul learned this lesson and did all he could in his life to follow King Jesus and to lead others to do the same (see 1Cor. 11:1 and Phil. 2:3-4). And we may not go as far as did the young man in the ODB story (above); … but at least we can do all we can to treat others the way Jesus would treat us … with love … and mercy … and grace.

I pray we do that today!!

My THANKFULNESS: … Oh Abba Father, … thank You, Lord, … for showing us how to treat others … the way You have treated us.

My Prayer Today: Oh Abba Father, … King Jesus, … I pray, Lord, that all reading here can, and will, join me to do all we can to exhibit Christlikeness in the way we live today. … Amen
