My Devotional Journal: Today's ODB author, Lisa Samra, uses the multitasking roles of a mom to illustrate the biblical concept of being a servant to King Jesus. ... The ODB author wrote: Cook. Event Planner. Nutritionist. Nurse. These are just some of the responsibilities regularly performed by modern moms. [see photo] In 2016, research estimated that moms likely worked between fifty-nine and ninety-six hours per week doing child-related tasks.
No wonder moms are always exhausted! Being a mom means giving a lot of time and energy to care for children, who need so much help as they learn to navigate the world.
When my days feel long and I need a reminder that caring for others is a worthy pursuit, I find great hope when I see Jesus affirming those who serve.
Jesus, when His disciples were arguing over who would sit with the Messiah in heaven or be a leader in His Kingdom (see highlight and reference passages), clearly showed them that to be great in God’s kingdom, one must be a slave to the King and serve others as King Jesus served all of mankind. And perhaps the attached graphic - of a multitasking mom - illustrates that kind of a servant’s heart and life.
I pray that all reading here are doing all we can to serve our Lord, King Jesus, by serving others, … just as He was willing to serve us, humbly going to the cross to die for us [see Phil. 2:3-11].

My THANKFULNESS: ... Oh Abba Father, ... thank You, Lord, ... for showing us how to be servant leaders in Your kingdom.

My Prayer Today: Oh Abba Father, ... King Jesus, ... I pray, Lord, that all reading here can, and will, join me to do all we can TODAY to follow the servant-heart model King Jesus has given us with His life and death - FOR US!! … Amen
