My Devotional Journal: Today's Our Daily Bread author, Sheridan Voysey, AT THIS LINK … Reviews the findings of anthropologist Donald Brown in his book Human Universals, where Brown showed that human cultures have many personal and social attributes in common, which supports the biblical teachings of the Apostle Paul (see highlight passage) that God has placed in man God’s Law, … written into our hearts thru our conscience.
I call it “The Love Hole,” which drives the heart of man to fill it up. And we so often do just that with all kinds of idols and substitutes. But only God can fill that void He has planted in our hearts; and He will - AND DOES - forgive man for all the sinful substitutes we use to try to fill God’s “Love Hole” … all the fleshly/worldly substitutes, like power, prestige, or P0RN. But as the linked song and the scriptures above truthfully declare, God is willing, able, and forthcoming to forgive any of us when we surrender, confess, and repent of our selfishness. And because of that, we can - AND MUST - forgive others who do wrong to us as we have done wrong to God.
Pretty good deal, huh? … Complete forgiveness and cleansing!! … But the question is … am I willing to forgive others the way God has forgiven me? … Oh, how I pray we are … and we will !!
My THANKFULNESS: ... Oh, Abba Father, thank You, King Jesus, … for Your forgiveness of my selfishness today … and tomorrow.
My Prayer Today: Oh Abba Father, ... King Jesus, ... . I pray that all reading here will join me, … to praise and thank our Lord for His forgiveness today and then to go out and forgive others today the way He has forgiven us. … Amen
