… God, thru Paul, shows that we Christians were created to walk with God and do His good works.
Reference Passage: … Galatians 5:16 [ESV] …
16 But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.
… God, thru Paul, shows that we Christians are to discipline ourselves to walk in His Spirit, avoiding the desires of our flesh.
My Devotional Journal: Today's Our Daily Bread author, John Blasé, AT THIS LINK … illustrates” power walking” with God, as Micah brought God’s commands to Israel (in the highlight passage), to walk with disciplined humility, keeping in step with God’s Spirit, thru His word. Power walking [see photo] is an athletic discipline which requires the humble discipline of walking as fast as possible with with one foot always on the ground, not breaking into a run.
And as the ODB author shows, it illustrates how God wants us to humbly discipline ourselves to “walk in the Spirit” as Paul exhorted fellow Christians and to walk humbly with discipline in life so as to do God’s work (Eph. 2:10 and Gal. 5:16) by walking in the Spirit and avoiding breaking to run ahead of God in our own flesh. And the best way to do this in life, according to David in Psalm 119: 106/133, is to follow God’s commands in His word.
So, I’m praying that all reading with me here will join me today to humbly do all we can to avoid running ahead of God and do some real Spirit-led POWER WAKING in the Spirit today.
My THANKFULNESS: ... Oh, Abba Father, thank You, King Jesus, … for shining Your light thru Your word to be able to walk with You today.
My Prayer Today: Oh Abba Father, ... King Jesus, ... . I pray that all reading here will join me, … to do all we can to walk WITH GOD and not run ahead of Him today.. … Amen
