Berry Patch Devotions in 2021 - Day 258
Devotional Song: ... GO TO THIS LINK ... Please take the time to take in a song and lyrics from the group Hillsong singing … The Potter’s Hand … poignantly singing of how God is the Potter and we, Christians, are the clay in His hands, fashioned into His image … for His glory.
==============
Highlight Passage: Isaiah 64:8 [NLT] …
8 And yet, O Lord, you are our Father. We are the clay, and you are the potter. We all are formed by your hand.
… God is the Eternal Potter and we are His clay.

Highlight Passage [Context]: … Isaiah 64:5-9 [NLT] … USE THIS LINK …
… Isaiah prophesies of God taking imperfect - yes, even flawed - clay and as The Potter, fashioning us into instruments that will play His music for His glory.
==============
Reference Passage: … Isaiah 45:9 [NLT] …
9 “What sorrow awaits those who argue with their Creator. Does a clay pot argue with its maker? Does the clay dispute with the one who shapes it, saying ‘Stop, you’re doing it wrong!’ Does the pot exclaim,‘How clumsy can you be?’
… We, as God’s creation do not dictate to Him, our Creator, how HE will fashion us for HIS glory.
Reference Passage: … Jeremiah 18:1-6 … USE THIS LINK …
… Jeremiah prophesies to Israel that God is reshaping them into His perfected images - for His glory.
Reference Passage: … Romans 9:20-21 [NLT] … USE THIS LINK …
… Paul shows fellow Christians how we, as God’s creation, don’t have the right to tell God, our Creator, how to fashion His clay as our Potter.
Reference Passage: … 2Corinthians 4:7 [NLT] …
7 We now have this light shining in our hearts, but we ourselves are like fragile clay jars containing this great treasure. This makes it clear that our great power is from God, not from ourselves.
… We are but earthen vessels, … jars of clay, … in the hands of God, as our Potter, to remake us into His images … for His glory.
My Devotional Journal: Today's Our Daily Bread author, Ruth Wan, AT THIS LINK … describes a wind instrument, the ocarina (see photo), which is fashioned from clay into a ceramic instrument which can play haunting and beautiful music.
And the ODB author feels, … and I agree, … that this simple pottery instrument, which can play beautiful music, is an apt word picture of how our God, as the Eternal Potter, takes us, as His clay, and refashions each Christian into an instrument which can be used, in harmony with other Christians, to play His music … for HIS glory. And I’m praying that we do all we can to be the clay, which He can fashion - by His design - into an instrument which can play HIS glorious music today and tomorrow.
My THANKFULNESS: ... Oh, Abba Father, thank You, King Jesus, … for making me over into an instrument You are fashioning to play Your music today.
My Prayer Today: Oh Abba Father, ... King Jesus, ... . I pray that all reading here will join me, … to be used aa an instrument in Your glorious Church orchestra, Lord, … playing in harmony with others, for Your glory. … Amen
