If my readers have taken in the linked song and meditated on the Scriptures shared above, I’m hoping that we all know that we serve a God Who cares for us - and watches over us - ALWAYS!   And we can ALWAYS go to Him, with thankful hearts, to receive His enabling grace and strength when we feel fearful or threatened.   Personally, and believing God’s word, I’m feeling His grace today.  How about you?

It was a sight he couldn’t unsee; and it led him, later in life, after he got a law degree, to return to Africa to serve prisoners, … in fact founding an organization to serve those in prison.

What do you and I see in this world which we can’t unsee, … something which calls us or drives us to do something about that which we have seen.  And since we know God sees all, and cares about all He has created; … where is He calling us to serve in His kingdom?   Personally, He has led me to help those who’re seeking to walk free from past patterns of habitual sin, …. just like God has redeemed me (see linked song).  Where is the Lord calling you to be His agent to lead others to the redemption God sees that others need?

My Thanksgiving: … Oh, King Jesus, thank You, … for calling me to serve You again today, Lord.

10 Our dedication to Christ makes us look like fools, but you claim to be so wise in Christ! We are weak, but you are so powerful! You are honored, but we are ridiculed.

Paul shows Christians in Corinth (and us) that their (our) faith in Christ may make us look like fools to the world but when our faith lasts, the world see that the faith is real.

Highlight Passage (in context): … 1Corinthians 4:9-13 [NLT] … USE THIS LINK

… Paul shows that having faith in Christ may cause them (us) to appear as fools to the world; …  but, like Christ on the cross, they (we) will survive the test and live.

… Peter teaches fellow Christians that the trials life test and grow our faith until Jesus comes in glory to judge us.

My Devotional JournalToday’s Our Daily Bread Author,  Matt Lucas AT THIS LINK        relates a historical incident which occurred in 304AD when the Roman emperor Maximisn marched into the ancient city of Nicomedia in Asia Minor and demanded that all worship him as Emperor.  But the Christians in the city gathered in their church and refused to renounce their faith in Christ and the Emperor burned them in the church.

The historical story shows that our world will often test our faith as Christians.  And our faith is tested and refined, like silver/gold are refined in the fires of life.   And I would imagine that some of my fellow Christian readers have been - or are being - tested by the fires of reality in life … RIGHT NOW.  The question, from the linked song and the Scriptures shared in this blog, is whether our faith in Christ will survive the fires and even grow stronger.  I’m stopping right here to pray that it will!

My Thanksgiving: … Oh, King Jesus, thank You, … for giving me Your strength and walking with me in the fires of life.

My Prayer TodayOh Abba Father, ... King Jesus, ... . I praise You, … again Lord. …for being with us, Lord, in the fires of life; and for giving us Your strength to stay strong in the fires.  … Amen

My Devotional JournalToday’s Our Daily Bread Author,  Jennifer Benson Schuldt AT THIS LINK    related a story about a family traveling by car who heard tornado warnings on the radio and sought shelter in a hotel nearby and were safe from the storms.

The story reminded the ODB author of how God’s word, like the Scriptures shared here today, promises that our God is the One we run to, seeking shelter from the “storms” of life.  The question is … do we trust in our God to be our “hiding place” (see photo) when we are confronted with or have warnings of the storms of life?  Personally, I trust in the truth of God’s word and the comfort of prayer to be my hiding place when I sense storms brewing in my life. What about you? …  Where do you run for protection?    Is God your hiding place today? … Common!!  Join me.  Let’s run and hide in Him today!
