A time to honor and remember our Lord ... 

Highlight Passage: … Joshua 4:6-7 … [NLT] … 

6 We will use these stones to build a memorial. In the future your children will ask you, ‘What do these stones mean?’ 7 Then you can tell them, ‘They remind us that the Jordan River stopped flowing when the Ark of the Lord’s Covenant went across.’ These stones will stand as a memorial among the people of Israel forever.”

… Joshua and one man from each of the 12 tribes of Israel build an alter of 12 stones to remember how God’s power, provision, and presence had brought His people to and through the Promised Land.

My Devotional Journal: Today’s Our Daily Bread Author,  Alyson Kieda  …  USE THS LNK -       …  wrote about a young man, named Aaron, who, with his sister, put together a poster-sized photo of a number of items which, when viewed by their mother, honored the life of her husband and their father, who refashioned himself, defeating addiction, to become a loving and resourceful leader of their family.

And the author, in today’s ODB blog, showed how Joshua fashioned an altar out of 12 stones, chosen by one from each of the 12 tribes of Israel, to honor how God’s power, provision, and presence as He brought God’s people through 40 years of wandering to establish themselves in God’s Promised land.  

And God’s word, shared above, shows all Christians that we, who call Jesus our Lord, should live lives which honor and remember God’s faithfulness and His glory as we honor Him…  just as we do when we come together to take communion at His table (see photo).  Personally I pray every day that my life will be an altar as I live my life to honor my Lord.   Oh how I fall way too short all too often.  How about you? 

My Thanksgiving: … Oh, King Jesus, thank You, … Lord … for calling me to honor You with my life.

My Prayer Today: Oh Abba Father, ... King Jesus, ... we live our lives as an altar of purpose to remember and honor You today … and tomorrow.    … Amen
