Daily Berry Patch Devotions in 2013 - Day 341
Devotional Song: Go to this link –
Please, I beg you, take your time to see a video of the poignant truth in song, performed by Steve Green, singing People Need the Lord, exclaiming that we must realize that all those around us … every day … need Jesus.

Highlight Passage #1 - NLT: Hebrews 13: 20
20 Now may the God of peace — Who brought up from the dead our Lord Jesus, the great Shepherd of the sheep, and ratified an eternal covenant with His blood — 21 may He equip you with all you need for doing His will. May he produce in you, through the power of Jesus Christ, every good thing that is pleasing to Him. All glory to him forever and ever! Amen.

Reference Passage #1: Acts 1: 8 … … [NLT]
8 “… But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes upon you. And you will be My witnesses, telling people about Me everywhere — in Jerusalem, throughout Judea, in Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
Reference Passage #2: 2nd Peter 1: 3-4 … [NLT]
3 By His divine power, God has given us everything we need for living a godly life. We have received all of this by coming to know Him, the One who called us to Himself by means of his marvelous glory and excellence. 4 And because of His glory and excellence, He has given us great and precious promises. These are the promises that enable you to share His divine nature and escape the world’s corruption caused by human desires.
Reference Passage #2: 2nd Timothy 2: 2 … [NLT]
2 You have heard me teach things that have been confirmed by many reliable witnesses. Now teach these truths to other trustworthy people who will be able to pass them on to others.
My Journal for Today: Monday thru Friday, in most workplace scenarios, those in the workplace spend well over 70% of their time surrounded by people, many of whom are lost; … and, as Steve Green sings in the linked song above, these “People Need the Lord.” Yet many of us don’t see ourselves to be “Ministers of the Gospel” out there in the work-a-day world where God has placed us.
Maybe you do; and I pray that all of us deeply internalize what Os Hillman is trying to emphasize from the workplace ministry he has been called to lead (see attached photo). His point is that the big-C “CHURCH” is not doing enough to equip its flock to be out there in the “9-5” workplace as “ministers of the Gospel,” doing what all those passages of scriptures above proclaim. These are God’s messages from multiple authors, including Jesus, Himself, which exhort – nay, even command – us that we’re equipped to “GO” and fulfill Christ’s command and His great commission, … i.e., to take the Gospel to those we encounter in the workplace.
If you listened to the lyrics of the song by Steve Green, … he sings, …
Everyday they pass me by,
I can see it in their eye.
Empty people filled with care,
Headed who knows where?
On they go through private pain,
Living fear to fear.
Laughter hides their silent cries,
Only Jesus hears. …
People need the Lord, people need the Lord …
Okay, my friend, it’s Saturday as I post this blog; and many of those who’re reading here will trudge off to work on Monday. And even those of us who’re “retired” will be out there in the world, encountering lost souls, in our own 9-5 “workdays,” … won’t we? So, I’m praying today that we all become ministers of the Gospel in our work-a-day, live-a-day lives.
My Prayer for Today … Lord, when I see those I just know are lost help me to shine Your light so that they can see and seek You for their lives. … Amen
