Reference Passage #1 - Job 33: 29-30 [ESV] …
29 “Behold, God does all these things, twice, three times, with a man, 30 to bring his soul from the pit, that he may be lighted into the light of life.
… Job’s fourth friend gives his some truth from God, causing Job to seek deeper for God’s truth.

Reference Passage #2 - Matthew 5: 14-16 [ESV] USE THIS LINK
… Jesus charges all to shine His light into the world

My Journal for Today: Today’s Our Daily Bread author, Bill Crowder, related a personal experience of touring through caves in Peru, known for their depth into the earth; and the author shared how dark it was in some of the caves, … enough so that it was a great relief to come out from the darkness into the light of the sun again. And Crowder used this to represent what it is like when someone responds to the Light of the World, Jesus, and comes out from the darkness of their own sin into the saving/sanctifying Light of THE SON, King Jesus…

Job, in his Old Testament journal of entering the darkness of Satan’s world and then coming out into God’s light, relates the story of a man [Job] being led by God’s arch enemy into the darkness of pain of confusion; and then being shone the light God provides for us follow Him into the Light [see the truth provided by even one of Job’s misguided friends, Elihu, in Job 33: 29-30].

And, of course, then in the NT, we read of Jesus becoming the “Light of the World,” as sung by some children, following the lead of Hillsong in one of the linked songs above. And then, in the second song, sung by Chris Rice, Jesus has charged all those who’ve walked from the darkness of being lost to the Light of being found in Him … to GO and shine His Light into the world.

So, the questions for application today are … ARE WE? … And … WILL WE?

My Prayer Today: Oh Lord, … Help me to reflect Your Light into the world … today!  Amen
