Daily Berry Patch Devotions in 2015 - Day 162
Devotional Song: … GO TO THIS LINK … … Please take the time to take in a video of Steven Curtis Chapman singing Be Still and Know … declaring our need as Christians to let the noise and clamor cease to know that our LORD is ALWAYS faithful … BE STILL AND KNOW THAT HE IS GOD!!
Highlight Passage Exodus 14: 13-14 [NKJV] …
13 And Moses said to the people, “Do not be afraid. Stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord, which He will accomplish for you today. For the Egyptians whom you see today, you shall see again no more forever. 14 The Lord will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace.”
… And in the stillness of our despair … God will fight for true believers … as He did for Moses … in the NIV, verse 14 reads, … “The Lord will fight for you; you need only to be still”

My Journal for Today: Today’s Our Daily Bread author, Lawrence Darmani, takes his readers back to the time when the grumbling Israelites, trapped by Pharaoh against the Red Sea upon their attempted escape from Egypt, were horrified by their circumstances, crying out for Moses to surrender and go back to Egypt into slavery. But Moses, now knowing and trusting in His God, told the people to BE STILL and see God at work in their deliverance. …
And history tells us of that incredible show of God’s strength on display in the stillness of Moses’ faith. And I, personally, have seen - on several occasions in my life - what the Psalmist wrote about in Psalm 46: 10 and what Steven Curtis Chapman sings about (linked above) … for believers to “be still AND KNOW” God’s strength at work in the stillness of our faith.
And I pray today that I - as well as any reading with me - have that stillness of faith and trust in our Lord to deliver us when we’re oppressed or overwhelmed.
My Prayer Today: Oh Lord, … For those who are up against life’s Red Sea, I pray for Your strength to cover us in our weakness. Let us “be still and know that You are God!” Amen
